Brooks Road Rezoning

Project Type:

Project Status:

Location:
Brooks Road

The purpose is to align the zoning to the use as well as to minimize potential for future traffic issues. More specifically, the area has three large farms as well as a number of smaller farm fields, is in an agricultural district, and is sparsely populated with 62 homes in an area of over 600-acres, all of which more closely fit the Rural Residential zoning district rather than the current Residential R-1-15 zoning district. In addition, the road is narrow, has no shoulders, and has multiple steep hills, many of which have blind spots and insufficient safe stopping distance, greatly limiting the amount of traffic the road could safely support, so reducing the potential of future traffic loads is an additional benefit of the rezone.
