Answer
If the animal is able to walk on his own it is best to leave it alone. Keep children and pets away from it. If the injured animal is unable to stand and walk you need to call the DEC at (585)226-2466 for a Canada goose and for a large animal, for example a deer, fox, coyote. If the injured animal is small (rabbit, woodchuck, bird) Animal Control can pick it up and either get it to a wildlife rehabilitator or humanely euthanize it.
