In Memory of Robert "Bob" F. Oakes
Bob Oakes served as town supervisor from 1972 to 1975. Although he only served for two terms, he was instrumental in finalizing a comprehensive land use plan for the town. In 1974 the Miracle Mile Mall, today known as Marketplace Mall, was in the planning stages. The Riverton community was also being developed. A Fire Prevention Code was adopted and the office of Fire Marshall was established.
MEALS ON WHEELS
Meals On Wheels, a program of Visiting Nurse Service of Rochester, delivers nutritious meals to homebound residents in Monroe County. Not only do these meals provide significant nutrition that can be adapted to meet special medical needs, but deliveries also serve as a check-in, giving peace of mind to family members who can’t always be present.
