Construction on Jefferson Road has been proceeding quickly with the next phase of the project to commence soon:

On Monday, September 27 at 8 pm the contractor is scheduled to begin the full-width milling and paving of Jefferson Road. Work will be performed nightly, Monday through Friday, from 8 pm until at least 7 am the following morning. During this time, travel lanes on Jefferson Road will be reduced to a single lane in each direction.

Work will be completed from West to East and divided into sections:

- Hylan Drive to west of Clay Rd
- West of Clay Rd to west of East Henrietta Rd
- West of East Henrietta Rd to I-390
- I-390 to east of Ridgeland

Milling and paving work is weather dependent and is expected to last 3 to 4 days in each section. As each section is completed, the eastbound and westbound traffic lanes will be separated and placed along adjacent new curb lines to allow construction of the raised medians. Beginning at this time, left turn movements to and from driveways along Jefferson Rd will no longer be permitted. Traffic will be required to make a U-turn movement at the signalized intersections.
