Mission:

The Sustainability Committee has been established to support the Town of Henrietta’s progress toward a sustainable community and to connect the Town with regional and national sustainability resources. 

Vision:

Projects envisioned include reviewing and recommending unified action on energy conservation, recycling and waste reduction, land conservation and other sustainability-related issues.

Membership:

The Sustainability Committee shall consist of seven members appointed by the Henrietta Town Board to serve staggered two-year terms such that no more than four members’ terms shall expire in any given year. A minimum of 8 meetings will be held per year. One member must be on town payroll in order to represent the town in the NYS funding programs.

Responsibilities:

The Sustainability Committee will advise the Henrietta Town Board and other town boards and committees on public and private matters that involve sustainability issues, and seek funding opportunities for implementing sustainability projects.  Topics of interest include energy and land conservation, recycling and waste reduction, building and land use codes, business practices, green purchasing and sustainable transportation.
