Zoning Board

The Zoning Board of Appeals is a seven (7) member board, all residents of the Town of Henrietta, whom are appointed by the Town Board. They hear appeals (variances) from the Town Code. 

A few examples of different types of variance requests are:

  • Setbacks for new buildings
  • Setbacks for new homes
  • Setbacks for additions
  • Setbacks for sheds
  • Fence height and location
  • Sign variances for commercial properties
  • Parking space reduction

Meeting Schedule

All meetings are scheduled for the first Wednesday of each month except as noted. The time of all meetings is 7:00 P.M. Meetings are held in the Main Meeting Room, at the Henrietta Town Hall. Applicants will be notified by mail or email as to when to appear. Applicant or representative must be present.

If an ASL interpreter is needed for a meeting, please contact the Town Clerk’s Office at (585) 359-7035 or townclerk [at] henrietta.org (townclerk[at]henrietta[dot]org) – requests made less than two business days prior to the meeting may result in us being unable to schedule an interpreter.

If you are not aware of the application process, please give yourself enough time (before the closing date) to go over any questions you may have with the Building and Fire Prevention Department.

 

The Zoning Board of Appeals was first established by the Henrietta Town Board on August 7, 1946.

At the time of its establishment, it was a five-member board consisting of the following members: Albert Woodhead Jr. (chair), Amsden Posson, William Robert, Martin T. Fagan, and George H. Barker.
