• Recipient of the "2023 Architectural Heritage Award" - Brigid and Michael Andre - in recognition of the preservation of an Aladdin "Kit" House, an important cultural resource for the Town of Henrietta.

The property at 5517 East River Road features a two-story bungalow called "The Detroit" built around 1914 and ordered as a "kit" house from Aladdin Readi-Cut Houses, part of the North American Construction Company of Bay City, Michigan.

The property was originally owned by Frank L. Martin and called Endeavor Farm. He raised potatoes, beans, wheat and hay and was a breeder of thoroughbred barred Plymouth Rock Chickens. The property remained in the Martin family until 1973. Over the years, the house was enlarged with four additions. Recently, purchased by Brigid and Michael André who are beginning the slow process of restoration.
